How Butachlor Works
Butachlor is absorbed mainly by the emerging shoots of germinating weeds and secondarily by their roots. It inhibits very-long-chain fatty-acid synthesis, disrupting the development of new weed cells before emergence. The current HRAC/WSSA classification places Butachlor in Group 15. Hunter will not control established weeds in the same way as a post-emergence foliar herbicide.
