HPM Higrow is a registered plant growth regulator containing Ethephon 39% SL. Ethephon releases ethylene after uptake by plant tissue and is used only for crop- and purpose-specific plant responses stated on the supplied Indian label.

Higrow is not a fertilizer, micronutrient or general-purpose biostimulant. It should not be promoted as a root booster, nutrient-absorption product or universal yield enhancer. HPM lists the product in 100 ml and 250 ml packs under registration no. CIR-32,540/99/ETHEPHON(SL)-163.

How Ethephon Works

After absorption, ethephon releases ethylene, a naturally occurring plant signal involved in processes such as flowering, maturation, ripening and abscission. The response depends on the crop, growth stage, intended purpose, concentration, timing and application method. A direction for one crop or purpose must never be reused for another.

Label-Listed Crop Scope

HPM lists mango, pineapple, tomato, coffee and rubber within the formulation's crop scope. This list is not a universal recommendation. Before use, confirm that the current physical HPM pack or leaflet names the crop, purpose, concentration, timing, method and any waiting period relevant to your operation.

Critical FSSAI Artificial-Ripening Rule

Do not dip fruits or vegetables in Higrow or any ethephon powder or liquid. FSSAI's advisory dated 16 April 2026 prohibits direct contact with produce for artificial ripening. Where an artificial-ripening operation is legally permitted, ethephon may only serve as an ethylene-gas source under the prescribed FSSAI chamber procedure, with no direct contact between the chemical and the produce. This product page does not recommend post-harvest dipping or direct treatment.

Dosage and Application Guidance

• There is no safe universal Higrow dose. Use only the exact concentration, crop stage, timing and method printed on the supplied HPM label.
• Do not convert a per-hectare or concentration direction into ml per litre unless the label also states the required water volume.
• Do not invent a pre-harvest interval. Follow the waiting period, if any, shown on the current pack or leaflet.
• Do not tank-mix Higrow with a pesticide, fertilizer, adjuvant or other input unless the label expressly allows that combination.

• Wear the protective clothing and equipment specified on the label; avoid skin, eye and spray-mist exposure.
